This Privacy Policy describes how Bolo App ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and discloses information when you use our API Gateway integration for Meta Messaging Services (WhatsApp and Instagram).
Information we collect
To provide the messaging gateway service, we process the following types of information:
- Message Content: We receive the text, media, and metadata of messages sent and received via WhatsApp and Instagram through Meta's Webhooks.
- User Identifiers: We collect Meta-specific identifiers (such as WhatsApp IDs or Instagram Scoped IDs) to ensure messages reach the correct recipient.
- Account Information: We collect basic profile information provided by Meta to identify the sender (e.g., display name or phone number).
How we use information
We use the collected data strictly to facilitate communication between our customers and their clients. Specifically:
- To route incoming messages from Meta to our customers' Bolo Chat.
- To transmit our customers' teams' responses back to Meta's API.
- To maintain short-term logs for troubleshooting and ensuring message delivery.
Data sharing and third parties
We do not sell any data. Data is shared only in the following contexts:
- Meta Platforms, Inc.: As this is an integration, all message data is processed through Meta's infrastructure and is subject to Meta's Privacy Policy.
- Service Providers: We may use cloud hosting providers (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud) to host our gateway. These providers are bound by strict data processing agreements.
Data retention
We retain messaging data only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy or as required by law.
- Transit Data: Most data is processed in near real-time.
- Logs: Technical logs may be stored for 90 days to ensure system stability.
Security
We implement industry-standard security measures, including HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, to protect the information passing through our gateway.
